Introduction
A large engagement survey study of junior doctors before and after implementation of the HealthRota e-rostering platform in a large District General Hospital in an unnamed NHS Wales Health Board.
A 14-question survey was conducted covering a range of topics including rota design, ease of use, annual leave requests, flexibility and work/life balance.
Results
On a 5-point Likert scale the average score out of 5 rose a stunning 41% from 3.0 pre-implementation to 4.2 after HealthRota e-rostering was introduced.
The biggest score increases covered the areas of access (up from 2.9 to 4.9) and ease of requesting leave (up from 3.1 to 4.8). Comments ranged from “absolutely fantastic” to “creates a better work/life balance.” More comments can be found in the Feedback section below.
Despite COIVD-19 impacting on the junior doctor experience. HealthRota still proved to be a much more popular and efficient system across all important aspects of medical rotas.
