Jim Barry, HealthRota’s CEO, will join a panel at the AWS Health Tech Community Event on March 17th, to share field insights. The panel discussion, hosted by Wendy Parks (Head of HealthTechs AWS) and including Ian Townend (Deputy CTO, NHS England) and other leaders, focused on how technology partners can support NHS Workforce Management and Productivity goals

The NHS is heavily investing in Workforce Management and Productivity due to increasing pressure on staffing, recruitment, and retention. The NHS Workforce Plan (June 2023) aims to retain current staff and better utilise new technology through three key strategies: Train, Retain, and Reform.

  • Train – Growing the workforce by significantly expanding domestic education, training and recruitment
  • Retain – Embedding the right culture and improve retention by improving culture, leadership and wellbeing
  • Reform – Working and training differently by enabling innovative ways of working to enhance productivity

The Darzi Report also points out NHS issues such as staff shortages, burnout, and management problems. It stresses workforce planning, staff empowerment, and leadership development. Additionally, the upcoming NHS 10 Year Health Plan will focus on shifting from hospitals to communities, from analog to digital, and from treating sickness to promoting prevention
