Healthcare Workers Foundation & HealthRota

HealthRota and the Healthcare Workers’ Foundation

HealthRota is proud to partner with The Healthcare Workers’ Foundation (HWF), a UK charity committed to providing support for the UK’s healthcare workers.

HealthRota was proud to partner with The Healthcare Workers’ Foundation (HWF), a UK charity committed to providing support for the UK’s healthcare workers. At HealthRota, we believe in contributing to the communities where we operate. As a small company, we actively supported charitable organisations and initiatives through both employee and corporate volunteering and donations. We aimed to back organisations that shared our values and contributed to the well-being and development of health and social communities.

In May 2024, HealthRota began a monthly donation to our employee-nominated charity, the Healthcare Workers’ Foundation, in support of their continuation of counselling and cost of living grants for workers in healthcare settings.

The Healthcare Workers’ Foundation was the only UK charity committed to providing financial, emotional, mental health, and well-being support for the UK’s healthcare workers. Their services included the distribution of financial grants, counselling, and initiatives to help bereaved families who had lost a healthcare worker parent.

Unfortunately, due to an increasingly difficult fundraising environment, the Healthcare Workers’ Foundation made the decision to wind up the charity in mid-January 2025. Despite the closure, we remain incredibly proud of the impact we were able to make together. Over the course of our partnership, HWF achieved remarkable milestones, including:

  • Distributed over £200,000 in grants to assist healthcare workers in difficult financial times.
  • Funded over £90,000 of counselling sessions to support healthcare workers with their mental health.
  • Refurbished 20 rest spaces, giving hundreds of healthcare workers a comfortable space to take a break and access to hot food and drink facilities.
  • Supported a dozen families who lost a healthcare worker parent to Covid-19 by providing access to legal support, tutoring, counselling, and respite breaks.
  • Made grants of almost £70,000 to support the children who had lost a healthcare worker parent through further education.
  • Distributed almost £1.9million of gifts in kind, including PPE, food donations, and well-being gifts.

We are honoured to have been a part of this journey and to have contributed to such worthy initiatives.
